Client Need:

Navy required the development of various VFD-based motor control systems to replace exiting two-speed motor technology.

D&K Solution:

D&K Engineering designed, built and delivered closed-loop vector controlled fully regenerative 90 Hp and 400 Hp motor control systems and associated operator interfaces to operate Naval deck machinery.

Results:

The motor control systems were successfully installed at the UNREP test facility in Port Hueneme. ,. D&K was included in the review and development of the military specifications for use of Variable Frequency Drives in Naval applications. D&K was also tasked to train Naval personnel on motor theory and specifically on the applications of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) motors.
