Heavy UNREP Control System

Client Need:

Navy UNREP division required development of an innovative control system to facilitate the transfer of cargo between ships while underway at sea.

D&K Solution:

Selected and installed appropriate sensory hardware into existing ship configuration and developed state-of-the art, fully redundant PLC-based control system for the Hauling Winch System.

Results:

The control system developed by D&K met and exceeded expectation and substantially improved the operability, safety, capacity and availability of the Hauling Winch System. The control system is intended to be retrofitted on all existing UNREP ships in the US Navy fleet and also support new Heavy UNREP development efforts.
