Manufacturing Quality

D&K Engineering's Manufacturing Quality is manifested through its processes, supplier quality and inspection procedures. Process controls are implemented through both the I-MetrixTM software system and systemized techniques such as Statisitical Process Control. Within the quality control system, real-time feedback is available regarding job status, production yields, and paretto analysis. I-MetrixTM manages all of the corrective actions caused by issues experienced during the manufacturing process. Status on each corrective action is known at any time simply by logging into the computer network. Electronic pass down logs and real time monitoring of the production flow at each process step allow us to react to problems immediately with minimal impact to overall WIP time. The data is also traced to the individual working on the product and is used as a continuous training tool to evaluate performance of our highly-skilled workforce.

All suppliers have to pass a quality review and maintain their quality levels to retain the status of an approved supplier in the supply chain.

Detailed records are maintained of each system or product built and shipped.  This data is compared to active field data so that product or system performance data can be generated. Our state-of-the-art ERP system allows us to track raw materials as they enter the door and continue through the process until they are assembled into the final product and delivered to clients.

We perform in-line manufacturing inspections and conduct quality control checklists at various stages within the assembly and test process. Product validation testing is performed on every unit and regular audits are conducted on finished products to ensure client expectations are met. Some of the types of analyses employed include:

Analyses

  • Manufacturing issue reporting & corrective action tracking (I-MetrixTM)
  • Correction Action, Preventative Action, and Supplier Corrective Action reporting
  • Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
  • Trend analysis of in-use field failures
  • Root cause failure analysis
  • Work instructions
  • Quality control checklists
  • Design of Experiment (DOE)
  • Flow diagrams
  • Paretto charts
  • Cause & effect diagrams
  • Gage R&R studies
  • FMEA
