D&K's Background

Scott Dennis and Alex Kunczynski, founders of D&K Engineering, met in the early-1990s as they both were earning Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, specializing in Mechatronics and Smart Product Design. After graduating, Scott and Alex initially went their separate ways pursuing their own career paths, but ultimately both ended up in Hewlett Packard’s inkjet development organization. One of their responsibilities at HP was to find companies to help HP develop new products and equipment and in their search they realized that great development services organizations were hard to find. To Scott and Alex, this was an opportunity. In 1999 they set out to create a top-tier product development and manufacturing company and founded D&K Engineering.

Today, D&K Engineering employs 150 people at their headquarters in San Diego and 450 people worldwide through its family of companies with multi-disciplinary engineering and manufacturing operations in San Diego, Singapore and Shanghai. Their impressive list of clients includes some of the most prestigious names in the Fortune 500.
